Actress Jumoke George’s Daughter Found Alive in Mali

Date:

Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of Nollywood veteran Jumoke George, who was declared missing four years ago, has been found alive in Mali, bringing an emotional turn to a prolonged family ordeal.

The discovery was confirmed on Wednesday by actress and talk show host Biola Bayo, who revealed during an episode of her show Talk to B that she had spoken with Adeola via video call. Though Adeola has not yet directly spoken to her mother, the confirmation of her safety has brought a measure of relief to Jumoke.

Adeola was last seen in Ibadan, where she lived with her grandmother, and was believed to be travelling to Lagos. According to Jumoke George, the family lost contact with her after that journey, leading to years of emotional and financial strain in efforts to locate her.

“She was in Ibadan where she was working and living with my mother,” Jumoke had recalled tearfully in an earlier interview. “One day, my mother called to say she hadn’t seen Deola, who said she was coming to meet me in Lagos. But I never saw her.”

Jumoke revealed that Adeola later made contact, asking for forgiveness and explaining that she had travelled out of the country with friends in search of better opportunities.
Years of Silent Suffering

Jumoke, who has graced the Yoruba film industry for decades, also opened up about her personal battles with illness and financial hardship, noting that her deteriorating health had affected her ability to work.

She shared that she had to refund payments for jobs she could not honour and borrow money for treatments, all while funding the ongoing search for her daughter.

“After I became ill, I couldn’t go for a set I was invited to,” she said. “Someone paid me last year, but I spent the money on treatment. I had to borrow money to refund the person.”

She added that medical tests she urgently needs are estimated to cost ₦400,000, a sum she currently cannot afford.
Actress Receives Treatment in Lagos

Biola Bayo also confirmed that Jumoke George is currently receiving medical care at a state hospital in Lagos and is awaiting further evaluations. It is yet to be confirmed whether she will be discharged or admitted for extended care.

“Hopefully she will be discharged or admitted after all her medical tests and reports. Not sure yet,” Bayo posted on Instagram.

The news of Adeola’s safety has sparked an outpouring of support and well-wishes from fans and colleagues, many expressing hope for a full reunion and improved health for the struggling actress.

Jumoke George, once known for her vibrant performances, now finds herself at a crossroads — relieved by her daughter’s survival, but still in need of urgent medical assistance.
