Tinubu, Qatari Officials Discuss Investment and Strategic Partnership at Villa

Date:

President Bola Tinubu on Friday hosted a high-level delegation from Qatar at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Gulf nation.

The delegation was led by the Special Envoy of the Amir of Qatar and included Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Bin Thamer Al Thani, and the Qatari Ambassador to Nigeria, Ali Ghanem Al-Hajri.

According to the State House, the meeting focused on economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and the formation of strategic partnerships across key sectors of mutual interest.

Joining President Tinubu at the meeting were several top government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, and Minister of State for Finance Doris Uzoka-Anite.

Although the Presidency has not released specific details of the discussions, the visit is widely seen as a continuation of Tinubu’s administration’s proactive diplomatic efforts to attract foreign investment and foster closer ties with strategic partners in the Middle East.

Friday’s engagement comes amid increasing diplomatic exchanges between Nigeria and Qatar, with both nations exploring deeper collaboration in areas such as energy, infrastructure, finance, and human capital development.
