Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele has been declared fit to face Arsenal in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie, head coach Luis Enrique confirmed on Tuesday.
Dembele had been a fitness concern after suffering a hamstring injury during the first leg in London, where he scored the only goal of the match in the fourth minute. The 70th-minute substitution raised doubts about his availability for the crucial return fixture in Paris.
“He’s been training with us for the last two days,” Enrique told journalists during a pre-match press conference. “You saw him today, a normal training session for him. He’ll be available tomorrow.”
The French forward has been instrumental in PSG’s campaign this season, netting 33 goals across all competitions, making his return a significant boost to the Ligue 1 champions’ hopes of progressing to the final.
Dembele missed PSG’s 2-1 defeat to Strasbourg in Ligue 1 over the weekend but resumed full training at the start of the week, alongside teammate Lee Kang-in. The South Korean midfielder, who also suffered a minor knock in the Strasbourg game, participated in team drills on Tuesday and is expected to be in contention as well.
The second leg at Parc des Princes is a high-stakes encounter for PSG, who are chasing their first Champions League final appearance since 2020. Arsenal, trailing 1-0 from the first leg, will be hoping to turn the tie around and reach their first final since 2006.
