The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called for better deals for workers in all sectors, enhanced safe-working conditions and workers’ rights, fair and just wages, and right policies with human face in order to promote better living standards for citizens.
SDP said it places high premiums on the role played by Nigerian workers in building the economy and contributing towards making the nation great.
This, the party said, means the government owes a duty to the people to secure the lives and property of citizens and guarantee their welfare and well-being.
It added that it will continue to promote social justice while standing with Nigerians to demand a better life for the people.
The opposition party made the declaration to honour this year`s May 1 otherwise known as Workers Day, a day set aside globally to honour workers in all sectors.
According to the party, “As citizens, we owe it a duty to ourselves, to work towards building a good society for all.”
