The Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to stabilising Nigeria’s power grid and ensuring consistent electricity supply to homes and businesses across the country.
In his Easter message released on Saturday in Abuja, and signed by his Special Adviser on Strategic Communications and Media Relations, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, Adelabu highlighted ongoing efforts aimed at upgrading the transmission infrastructure and boosting energy generation through partnerships with renewable energy developers.
“We acknowledge the economic hardships faced by many Nigerians and reaffirm our commitment to stabilising the grid, expanding access, and fostering investor confidence,” the minister stated.
Adelabu emphasized that reforms within the power sector are geared towards sustainable and long-term solutions, noting that the Ministry of Power remains resolute in addressing structural and operational challenges.
The minister also called on Nigerians to support government initiatives by reporting illegal acts such as energy theft and tampering with power infrastructure, both of which he said undermine national efforts.
“Let us also embrace energy-efficient practices to reduce strain on the grid,” Adelabu added.
Quoting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, he stressed the need for collective resilience, unity, and patriotism in overcoming national challenges, especially in the power sector.
Describing Easter as a period of “unity and compassion,” the minister called on Nigerians to let the season inspire hope and national solidarity.
“May the spirit of Easter inspire hope and solidarity and build a Nigeria where every home enjoys uninterrupted power, and every citizen thrives in an environment of peace and progress,” Adelabu concluded.
