Ganduje Backs Creation Of Anioma State

Date:

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has thrown his weight behind the creation of Anioma State.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the long-standing demand for the creation of Anioma State.

Ganduje, who was in Delta to officially welcome members of the Delta Unity Group from Ika Federal Constituency into the APC, made a bold declaration during the gathering, stating that “the creation of Anioma State is a done deal.”

The event drew top APC figures from Delta and Edo States, including Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District. Senator Nwoko described the event as a “defining moment for Delta politics and for the Anioma people.”

In a statement by Michael Ogar, media consultant to Senator Nwoko, Ganduje was quoted as saying that the APC is fully aligned with the aspirations of the Anioma people and assured that the proposal has the backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC governors, the National Assembly, and the broader party leadership.

“The creation of Anioma State is not just an aspiration; it is a commitment that reflects equity, justice, and the unity of our nation,” Ganduje said.

Senator Nwoko, a known proponent of Anioma State, received the declaration with optimism, describing it as a significant step towards addressing regional imbalance.

“This is the clearest signal that the dream of Anioma State is not only alive but now anchored at the very heart of national policy making. Our people deserve inclusion, and this is the pathway to lasting justice and balance in the Nigerian federation,” he said.

The high-profile meeting, according to the statement, explained the growing influence of the APC in Delta State, particularly in Delta North, and indicates strong grassroots alignment with national leadership in support of state creation and restructuring.
