Salah’s Contract Extension Stuns Aina, says EPL is Finished

Date:

Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina, was left stunned after news broke Friday morning that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah had extended his stay at Anfield for another two years.

While entering the Forest training ground on Friday, Aina was alerted by a Nottingham Forest teammate to the announcement on Sky Sports News with the Nigerian defender in disbelief when he learned of the deal, and his reaction quickly gained attention on Instagram.

His immediate response was one of shock.

“Has he signed? Mohamed has signed again?” Aina asked, before adding, “The league is finished! It is dead!”

Aina’s disbelief echoed the sentiments of many Premier League defenders who now face the prospect of Salah continuing his terror on the pitch for at least two more seasons.

This contract extension ensures that Salah, who turns 33 in June, will remain a key player for Liverpool, having scored 243 goals and provided 111 assists since joining the club.

His performances this season, with an impressive 54 goal contributions in 2024/25 alone, highlight his ongoing importance to the Reds.

For Premier League defenders like Aina, Salah’s contract extension serves as a reminder of the challenge they face when up against one of the most dangerous forwards in world football.
