Wike Calls Reports of Collapse ‘False, Politically Motivated’

Date:

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday rejected circulating rumors alleging that he collapsed last week, describing them as an attempt to score cheap political points.

Wike, who was inspecting four ongoing projects in the FCT, including the International Conference Centre (ICC), stated that the reports, which claimed he suffered a partial stroke due to excessive alcohol consumption, were false and unfounded.

Speaking to journalists during the inspection, Wike emphasized that such baseless rumors were aimed at tarnishing his image for political gain. He categorically denied the claims and assured the public that he was in good health and fully committed to his duties.

“These rumors are nothing but a cheap political tactic. I am in good health and focused on delivering on the projects and responsibilities entrusted to me. I will not allow such distractions to deter me,” Wike said.

The rumors, which had been widely circulated on social media, alleged that the minister had suffered a health scare, sparking concerns among the public. However, Wike’s swift dismissal of the reports served to quell any further speculation.

During his visit to the ongoing projects, the minister expressed confidence that the ongoing developments in the FCT would be completed on schedule and contribute significantly to the city’s infrastructure and economy.
