Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have rescued two abducted students of the Federal University of Lafia, FULafia and arrested one suspect, Ibrahim Musa of Abuni village, Awe Local Government Area.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday April 1st.
According to the statement, the victims were abducted on March 30, 2025 from their residence during an attack at the Tudun Kauri area of Lafia.
Following this, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, ordered immediate action and swiftly mobilised operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and ‘A’ Division, Lafia, to track down the perpetrators.
This led to a rescue operation, which involved an exchange of gunfire between the kidnappers and police personnel, resulting in the kidnappers abandoning their victims and fleeing in different directions.
Reacting, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for their relentless efforts and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling crime in the State head-on.
The Police Commissioner urged officers to remain steadfast in their mission to rid the state of criminal activities.
