Award-winning Afrobeats star Davido has declared that his American passport holds more value than a million dollars, emphasizing the privileges it affords him.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, the Nigerian singer holds dual citizenship, granting him unrestricted access to the United States. Reflecting on its significance, he stated, “Till date, I don’t care how much money you’ve got, that blue passport is worth more than a million dollars.”
Davido highlighted the convenience his U.S. passport provides, particularly in terms of travel. “The only thing is that I could fly anytime I wanted, like go to America every time I wanted and stuff. That was beautiful,” he added.
The singer contrasted his experience with that of his team members, who often struggle with visa applications and face delays when traveling for international tours. His American passport, he noted, spares him such challenges, allowing him seamless movement across borders.
Davido’s statement underscores the broader conversation on passport privilege, especially for Nigerian artists and businesspeople who frequently encounter visa restrictions.
