Controversial TikTok streamer, Peller, has alleged that he has been receiving death threats following his call for Nigerians to stop participating in the ongoing #30DayRants challenge on the social media platform.
Peller, who has faced widespread backlash for urging Nigerians to refrain from using the challenge to criticise poor governance, warned that continued participation could lead to a government crackdown on TikTok, affecting his and others’ livelihoods.
During a recent livestream, he revealed that some individuals had directly threatened his life, referencing the shooting of his fellow streamer, Oloba Salo, in Lekki, Lagos, last year.
“I have been receiving death threats. Some people threatened to shoot me like they shot Salo in Lekki Phase 1. They asked me to watch my back when going out,” he said.
Expressing frustration, Peller abruptly ended his stream, saying, “What is all this? I’m not talking again. Goodbye.”
His comments have intensified debates surrounding #30DayRants, a movement where Nigerians voice their grievances about governance and social issues. While many see it as an outlet for expression, others fear it could lead to government censorship.
As of now, Peller has not provided further details on the threats or whether he has reported them to authorities.
