The wife of a former Head of Service (HoS) in Rivers State has raised concerns over the sudden disappearance of her husband following his recent resignation from office.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, she expressed fear for his safety, stating that he had been unreachable since stepping down from his position.
“My husband has been missing since he resigned. His phone lines are switched off, and no one has heard from him,” she lamented.
The ex-HoS, whose name has not been disclosed in the statement, reportedly resigned amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, which has seen tensions between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Sources indicate that his resignation was unexpected, fueling speculation that it may have been linked to political pressure. However, there has been no official confirmation of any threats against him.
Family members and close associates have urged security agencies to intervene and ensure his safety. Meanwhile, the state government has yet to comment on the matter.
The development comes amid heightened political tension in Rivers State, with concerns over the safety of public officials caught in the crossfire of the ongoing crisis.
