The President of the Abuja chapter of University of Nigeria Alumni Association, Dim Emeka Obasi, on Thursday described DIG, Ben Okolo, as a “Thoroughbred professional who has brought great fame and admiration to the University of Nigeria and Nigeria as a whole.”
Mr Obasi made the remarks when he led a delegation of the Association on a courtesy call to Okolo over his promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

The delegation comprise exco members, elders and other members of the branch, High Chief Johnny Chukwu, Rtd federal permanent secretary of the FCT, Princess Vivian Atuany, and Former Rotary Abuja President, Barr Walter Odoh.
Others are the Legal Advisor, and Obinna Ijere, the Director UNN Liaison Office, Abuja.
Highlight of the visit was the rendition of the Alumni song and the presentation of a congratulatory card and UNAA Abuja Medal of Honour to DIG Okolo by the serving Alumni Branch President and former UNAA Abuja Branch President, Rtd FCT Commissioner of Police and Owelle of Onicha-Ugbo, Dr Chris Atugokoh ALOHA.DIG Okolo previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit and the Head of IGP Monitoring Unit, amongst other positions.
He has also attended several leadership and professional courses within and outside Nigeria including the Tactical Command Course at the Police Staff College, Jos, Strategic and Management Training Course at the INTERPOL Headquarters, France.
