Arnold Agrees £240k Weekly Deal with Real Madrid on Five-Year Contract

Date:

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, signing a five-year contract worth £240,000 per week.

According to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old defender, whose Liverpool contract expires this summer, will leave Anfield as a free agent and join the Spanish giants ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Alexander-Arnold, who has been a key player for Liverpool since making his senior debut in 2016, will reportedly receive an annual salary of £13 million at Real Madrid, a significant increase from his current £180,000-a-week deal. The contract also includes a lucrative signing-on fee and performance-related bonuses.

The move will see him reunite with England teammate Jude Bellingham at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Real Madrid also reportedly targeting other Premier League talents such as Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.

Alexander-Arnold’s departure marks the end of a 21-year journey with Liverpool, having joined the club’s academy at the age of six. He has since made 349 appearances, scoring 22 goals and winning multiple trophies, including:

  • Champions League (2019)

  • UEFA Super Cup & Club World Cup (2019)

  • Premier League title (2020)

  • FA Cup, Carabao Cup & Community Shield (2022)

  • Carabao Cup (2024)

With his impending exit, Liverpool are expected to turn to academy graduate Conor Bradley as his replacement, while Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah could also provide cover in the right-back position.

As Liverpool push for another Premier League title this season, Alexander-Arnold looks set to bid farewell with another winners’ medal. His move to Real Madrid would mark a new challenge in La Liga, as he aims to continue his legacy at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
