Chelle banks on Team Unity as Eagles tackle Warriors

Date:

Super Eagles head coach of the Eagles, Eric Chelle, has reaffirmed his commitment to securing World Cup qualification, stressing the importance of team unity and strategic decision-making.

Speaking ahead of his side’s game against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, Chelle said every player has a role to play in the team’s quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

“My job is to analyse the opponent and make some choices,” Chelle said.

“Their (players) job is to accept the choice.”

Prior to their first win the World Cup qualifying campaign, the Eagles’ performance have been inconsistent, some displaying strong teamwork in some games and falling short in others.

However, Chelle remains focused on guiding the squad through these challenges.
“We need to be together to achieve our goal.

“The most important thing is to bring World Cup qualification for us,” he added.

With a blend of experienced and emerging talent in the squad, Chelle believes the team has the potential to reach the World Cup.

However, success will depend on his tactical adjustments and the players’ execution on the field.

As the qualification campaign progresses, all eyes will be on the Eagles and their coach to see if they can secure a spot on football’s biggest stage.
