Atiku, Peter Obi’s Camp, El-Rufai, Others Join Forces Against Tinubu for 2027

Date:

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and several prominent figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have launched a political coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

At an ongoing press conference, key opposition leaders in attendance include Yunusa Tanko, representing the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal; former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai; National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties Peter Ahmeh; and Convenor of the Alternative Segun Showunmi.

Additionally, apologies were announced on behalf of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, and the immediate past APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, among others.

The coalition signals growing political realignments ahead of the next presidential election, with opposition forces and some former APC members uniting in what could become a formidable challenge to President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
