Lawmakers Donate ₦705m to Tinubu to Assist Needy Nigerians

The House of Representatives has donated ₦705 million to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support his philanthropic initiatives aimed at assisting vulnerable Nigerians.

The donation was presented on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during an event where President Tinubu hosted members of the House of Representatives for Iftar, breaking the Ramadan fast together.

The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, alongside Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, handed over the cheque to the president, emphasizing that the contribution was a demonstration of lawmakers’ commitment to supporting the administration’s efforts to uplift disadvantaged citizens.

Receiving the donation, President Tinubu appreciated the gesture, reiterating his administration’s focus on addressing economic hardship and implementing policies to improve the well-being of Nigerians.

The event, which was attended by several lawmakers and government officials, also served as a platform for discussions on national issues and strategies to alleviate poverty in the country.
