The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially signed a partnership agreement with ValueJet, making the airline the official carrier for the federation and Nigeria’s national football teams.
The deal, formalized on Saturday at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, marks a significant step in enhancing travel logistics for the Super Eagles and other national teams.
Speaking at the event, ValueJet’s Chief Executive Officer, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to ensuring the national teams travel comfortably and efficiently for international competitions.
“We are happy at this historic development. Nigerian football has a storied history and a passionate fan base. By joining forces with the NFF, we intend to bring fresh energy to the game and provide seamless travel solutions for our national teams,” Majekodunmi said.
The partnership is expected to cover not only international matches but also grassroots programs aimed at boosting football development across Nigeria.
NFF marketing and sponsorship committee chairman, Sharif Inuwa, who represented NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau at the event, highlighted the significance of the agreement. He revealed that ValueJet had already been providing flight services for the Super Eagles for over a year, earning praise from players and officials.
“I am happy that we have formally consummated this partnership. Players and officials have commended their general operations, and the NFF is happy that this relationship has now been sealed,” Inuwa said.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, also praised ValueJet’s professionalism, particularly recalling the airline’s swift intervention during the Super Eagles’ detention in Libya in October 2024 during a 2025 AFCON qualifying match.
With this deal, ValueJet solidifies its position as a key stakeholder in Nigerian sports, providing crucial logistical support to help the country’s teams perform at their best on the global stage.
