Moses Simon has firmly dismissed rumors about an injury and confirmed that he will be fit for Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
He played the full 90 minutes in Nantes’ 1-0 victory over Lille in Ligue 1 on Saturday, a clear sign of his readiness for the crucial matches.
Despite earlier reports suggesting he had a knock and might miss the games, Simon assured Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, that he would be available.
These reports were debunked after Simon started and played the entire match on Saturday.
This followed a brief period where Nantes’ coach, Antoine Kombouaré, had noted Simon’s absence from training, fueling concerns.
However, it appears that was just a temporary issue, as Simon is now fully fit.
Simon communicated directly with Chelle and confirmed that he would be joining the team in Kigali after the Nantes game, set to arrive at the Eagles’ hotel promptly.
Therefore, all talks of a possible replacement for him have been put to rest.
