Frontline All Progressives Congress juggernaut, Mr.Olofu Charles on Saturday called on the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume to resolve political differences with Gov. Alia, and other critical stakeholders in Benue state in the interests of the party.
A statement signed by Mr. Olofu Charles that was made available to newsmen in Kano on Saturday enjoined the SGF to emulate the proactive steps by President Tinubu to reconciled aggrieved Lagos Lawmakers.
The APC stalwart further appealed to Senator Akume, the Minister of water resources and sanitation, Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev to sit down at a round table to discussed whatever issues affecting the progress of the party in Benue state.
Mr. Charles said that, although Rev. Father Alia had dismissed rumour making the rounds that he was planning to defected to Social Democratic Party ( SDP), he however cautioned that such move would translate to political miscalculations.
Mr. Charles stressed that “It would be political unwise if party Elders pretend that all is well amongst the rank and file of members”, adding that “holding of letters of appointments for 12 River Basin authorities is allegedly causing a serious ripples between governor Alia,the SGF and Minister of water resources and sanitation.”
He alleged that “all of them have their respective candidates for the position”, noting that “letter of appointment to the appointees were been delayed for political reasons.”
Mr. Charles lamented that “the power play has denied over 70 innocent people appointed by President Tinubu to assume office,as they were yet to receive letter of appointment from the office of the SGF,”
Mr.Charles then tasked Senator Akume,to as a matter of urgency ordered for the released of letter of appointment to the 12 River Basin authorities appointees,to afford irreplaceable damage,as those appointments had contributed immensely to the emergence of President Tinubu
