The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday inaugurated its South South zonal caretaker committee to take charge over the affairs of the party in the zone.
The inauguration was done at the party national secretariat, Abuja.
Recall that the setting up of the caretaker committee has been dogged by controversies, especially from the Nyesom Wike’s camp, which insisted that Dan Orbih has already emerged as the Chairman of the zonal committee, but the party had said that that exercise was not authorized by the PDP. 
The party said that the South South Zonal Caretaker Committee was set up to pilot the affairs of the Party in the Zone in line with the provisions of the PDP Constitution until a new Zonal Executive is elected.
