French Music Industry Honors Burna Boy with Platinum Status

Date:

Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy has received platinum certification from the Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique (SNEP) for his 2019 collaborative single “Donne-Moi L’accord” with French singer Dadju.

The platinum status, which signifies over 50 million streams on Spotify, highlights Burna Boy’s growing influence in the global music industry and his ability to connect with international audiences.

This latest achievement comes shortly after Burna Boy’s gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his song “Alone”, which featured on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. “Alone” has racked up 164 million streams on Spotify and was nominated for Best Global Song Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Burna Boy continues to solidify his position as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports, breaking records and gaining recognition across different continents.
