The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed six persons including a woman and her unborn child killed and left several others seriously injured by identify herder at Farin Dutse in Nasarawa Local of the state.
The ugly incident was contained in a press statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel, and made available to newsmen in Lafia the state capital.The statement narrated that,” On March 9, 2025, at about 1430hrs, one Yakubu Kaka of Farin Dutse reported that a dispute between some youths and a herder in the bush resulted in the tragic killing of one Friday Danladi Jike by a suspect identified as Sani Allah Gaba.
“Upon receiving this report, the commissioner of police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, swiftly deployed mobile police operatives to the scene, where they encountered a violent mob attempting to kill one Isa Alhaji. The victim was successfully rescued and taken to General Hospital, Nasarawa.
“During the operation, three injured victims—Samaniya Wa’azu, Vincent Ezekiel, and Johnson Maikasuwa—were rescued and taken to a medical center for treatment,” the statement stated.
The statement noted that six corpses were recovered and identified as Simeon Madaki, Ayawu Senior, Sunday Wa’azu, Vincent Sunday, Taimako Senior, and Filibus Jatau Mai’anguwa.
The statement added that houses, shops, motorcycles, and a car were also vandalized during the attack.
The statement further informed that security operatives has been reinforced in the area to ensure law and order; urging members of the public to remain calm; as efforts are ongoing to arrest all the perpetrators of the unfortunate incident
