PDP Urges Calm Ahead of Supreme Court Final Verdict

Date:

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the country have been told to remain calm pending the final verdict of the Supreme Court in the case of the party National Secretary.

This was the position of the Conference of Professionals in PDP (CP-PDP) on Monday on the declaration of the Supreme Court in the on-going case of the party National Secretary between Sen. Samuel Anyanwu and Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye.

The Conference, in a statement by its Protem National Coordinator, Barr. Obinna Nwachukwu, however noted that the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the application filed by Senator Anyanwu to Stay the Execution of the declaratory judgment of the Court of Appeal, which on December 20, 2024, removed Senator Anyanwu and replaced with Hon. Udeh-Okoye as the National Secretary of PDP.

“The dismissal of the Application by the Supreme Court has further elucidated and affirmed that a declaratory judgement of a Court of competent jurisdiction cannot be stayed under the Nigerian jurisprudence.

“The import of today’s outcome from the Supreme Court is that the December 20, 2024, judgment of the Court of Appeal which removed and replaced Senator Anyanwu with Hon. S.K.E Ude Okoye as the National Secretary of the PDP subsists.

“As a body of professionals, the Conference calls on Party members to remain law-abiding and guided by the spirit of sportsmanship as we join forces to strengthen and reposition our party for the task ahead,” the PDP group said.
