PDP Sets April 12 for Zonal Congresses Across Three Regions

Date:

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced April 12, 2025, as the new date for its Zonal Congresses in the South South, South West, and North Central regions. The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, confirming adjustments to previously scheduled events.

Initially postponed, the South South Zonal Congress will now take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Meanwhile, the South West and North Central congresses, initially set for March 22, have also been moved to April 12. They will be held in Ibadan, Oyo State, and Jos, Plateau State, respectively.

According to the party, the congresses will elect Zonal Executive Officers and National Ex-Officio Members in accordance with the PDP Constitution and Guidelines.

The NWC urged aspirants, party leaders, stakeholders, and relevant agencies—including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security operatives, and the media—to take note of the new schedule and make necessary preparations.

Signed by PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the statement reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a transparent and democratic process in its internal elections.
