Club Brugge midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, has expressed confidence that his team can still reverse their 3-1 deficit against Aston Villa in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg clash.

Despite a challenging result at home, Onyedika believes there is still hope for his side to progress when they meet Villa Park for the second leg next Wednesday.

Onyedika, who made his return from a minor injury during the match, admitted that the late goals conceded by his team made the result difficult to accept.

However, he remained optimistic about their chances, insisting that anything can happen in football.

“It was a tough conclusion for us,Onyedika said in an interview with UEFA.com.

“The result was not heading in the right direction, so it was tough for us at the end. In this competition, you have to be at your best. You have to be ready for every action, every match,”

“We’ve been working for this for months. We played our game and did our best. The result makes it difficult for us, but never say never. We have to believe in it. You never know what can happen.”

After conceding two late goals, Club Brugge now faces a significant challenge to overturn the deficit on their upcoming trip to Villa Park.

With the pressure mounting, Onyedika and his teammates will need to produce a stellar performance to keep their Champions League dreams alive.

The second-leg clash promises to be a thrilling encounter as the Belgian champions look to defy the odds and book a spot in the quarter-finals.
