Ball Affects Lives, a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to empowering youth through sports, education, and leadership, has appointed Nigerian sports media personality and youth advocate, Oluwafemi Adefeso, as its new Vice President and Board Member.
His appointment marks a significant step in the organisation’s mission to expand its impact globally, particularly in Africa.
Adefeso, a renowned figure in sports media and youth development, is the Founder and Executive Director of Balls Activating Literacy and Leadership (BALL), an initiative that has empowered over 2,000 young Africans through sports equipment donations, literacy programs, and leadership training.
Expressing his excitement about the new role, Adefeso emphasised the alignment between Ball Affects Lives and his vision for youth development through sports.
“It’s not every day you connect with an organisation in another part of the world that perfectly shares your ideology and objectives for empowering youth in underserved communities,” he said.
“My goal is to continue using sports as an enabler for transforming the lives of African youths.”
As Vice President, Adefeso will oversee strategic planning and program execution for Ball Affects Lives, ensuring a broader reach in both the U.S. and Africa.”
His appointment coincides with a strategic partnership between Ball Affects Lives and BALL, integrating African outreach into the organisation’s mission.
