Ocean Glory Cup: 64 Youth Teams to Compete for ₦4M

The much-anticipated Ocean Glory Cup will officially kick off on March 3 at the Federal Housing Authority football pitch in Festac Town, Lagos, with 64 youth teams set to compete for a share of ₦4m in prizes.

This maiden edition of the tournament is expected to be a major platform for the development of young football talent in Nigeria.

The competition, which will feature both grassroots and all-star teams, is a key initiative of Ocean Glory Commodities Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility program.

The company aims to support the growth of soccer in the country while providing a platform for emerging athletes to showcase their skills.

Speaking about the competition, Emmanuel Cole Chiori, a Director at Ocean Glory Commodities Limited, expressed his excitement about the

“The Ocean Glory Cup 2025 is not just about winning; it’s about creating opportunities for young athletes to grow, learn, and achieve their full potential.

“We are committed to nurturing talent and encouraging personal development in the youth.”

Chiori also revealed that the winners of the tournament will walk away with ₦2m, while the runners-up will receive ₦1.5 million.

The third-place team will be awarded ₦1 million, and the fourth-place team will take home ₦500,000.

In addition, the finalists of the Allstars competition will receive the same cash prizes.

The tournament will be held in a knockout format, with 64 teams selected to compete in the final stages.

According to Marshal Mbre, the tournament director, this structure will ensure intense competition and the identification of top talent.

“Our sole motive is to provide a solid platform for the next big star in football to emerge,” Mbre said.

“This exciting tournament is open to youth teams across Lagos, with the goal of offering a significant boost to the careers of young players who have the potential to make a mark in the sport.”

Creative Director at Ocean Glory Commodities Limited, Daniel Cole Chiori, also added, “The Ocean Glory Cup is poised to be a game-changer for youth sports in Nigeria, and with such substantial prizes on offer, all eyes will be on the 64 teams battling for glory in Lagos.”
