The Nigerian Police in Yobe State has pledged to continue its onslaught against criminals in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, in a statement, reiterated the command`s resolve to sustain its commitment to purge the state of heinous acts.
The statement signed by the Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dungus Abdulkarim, also revealed efforts made by the police to curb violent crimes in the state.
According to the statement, on February 15, 2025, the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters arrested two suspects, Bawa Saidu (22) and Weti Saleh (25), for conspiring and gang-raping a 12-year-old girl.
Abdulkarim said the victim received immediate medical attention, while the suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
He revealed that in another incident, the Gujba Divisional Police Headquarters collaborated with Vigilante to rescue a 15-year-old boy, Hassan Alh Yau, who was kidnapped on February 12, 2025.
The successful rescue operation resulted in the recovery of dangerous weapons, including a single-barrel gun.
The statement further explained that three suspects, including Sale Ahmadu, were arrested for using an uncompleted building in Damaturu to conceal stolen properties, adding that the suspects confessed to stealing a motorcycle and other items
