The office of Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko has officially debunked recent rumors alleging that he is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is expecting his child.
In a statement released by his Director of Communications, the senator described the claims as “entirely baseless” and a product of “malicious speculation.” The statement also dismissed reports linking him to comments about singer Tuface Idibia and polygamy, calling them “completely untrue.”
“As a public figure, and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers seeking attention to fabricate such stories,” the statement read. “However, Senator Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focused on delivering on his political mandate and has no time for distractions.”
The senator’s office urged media practitioners to verify information before publication and warned against the consequences of spreading fake news. The public was also advised to disregard the rumors and rely only on official communications from his office.
This clarification comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding Nwoko’s personal life, which has frequently been the subject of media attention due to his previous marriages.
