The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace unity and commitment to the party’s growth.
She emphasised grassroots mobilization and increased youth and women participation in party affairs.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, Mahmoud commended the tireless efforts of the party’s leadership at all levels, recognising their role in solidifying APC’s dominance as Nigeria’s ruling party.
She also praised the achievements of the party in the FCT, particularly under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, highlighting key progress in infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
She said “In the FCT, our party has made remarkable strides in governance. These achievements are a testament to the effectiveness of our policies and the hard work of our elected representatives and Area Council chairmen.”
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Mahmoud stressed that unity remains APC’s greatest strength. She urged members to set aside personal interests, resolve disputes through dialogue, and respect the supremacy of the party.
She also called for transparency and fairness in all party affairs to sustain APC’s credibility and dominance.
“Our collective resolve is key to sustaining APC as the ruling party. We must continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people and build a stronger, more prosperous nation,” she declared.
Mahmoud reiterated the importance of grassroots mobilisation, encouraging more youth and women involvement in party activities. She emphasized that APC’s continued success depends on broad-based participation and inclusivity.
Speaking in the same vein, the FCT Chairman of the APC, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, noted that the meeting provided an opportunity to assess progress, review strategies, and strengthen internal democracy ahead of future electoral challenges.
“The dedication of all members has continued to solidify APC’s position as the ruling party and the preferred choice of the people,” he said.
The event reaffirmed APC’s commitment to sustained growth, internal unity, and effective governance, as the party positions itself for future electoral successes in the FCT and beyond.
