Ola Aina Hints at Nottingham Forest stay

Date:

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has hinted that he is likely to extend his stay at Nottingham Forest, expressing his desire to remain at the club for years to come.

Aina, whose contract expires in four months, was linked with moves to Manchester City and Galatasaray during the January transfer window.

While negotiations with Nottingham Forest are ongoing, no agreement has been finalized. Reports suggest the former Chelsea academy player could sign a new four-year deal once terms are settled.

Speaking to Sky Sports about his future, Aina said, “I hope so. I really enjoy it here. I enjoy the staff, the players, the club, the community. Everything about it is a good place, so hopefully.”

Since arriving at Nottingham Forest, Aina has impressed with his versatility, excelling in both full-back and wing-back roles under Nuno Espírito Santo.

He has been a regular starter, featuring in all 24 of the club’s Premier League matches this season.

Aina also praised teammate Chris Wood, who has been instrumental for Forest this season, scoring 17 goals in 24 league appearances.

The Nigerian defender described the New Zealand international as a key figure in the squad.

“Wood is the most chilled, normal guy you will come across.

“He doesn’t bother anyone, doesn’t get in the way, goes about his business, can have a laugh as well, so he’s got a mixture of everything.

“He is in fantastic form, so good on him, he deserves it as well.”

Nottingham Forest will be looking to build on their momentum as they prepare to face Aina’s former club, Fulham, in their next Premier League fixture.
