Nigerian on-air personality Chinedu Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has officially stepped down as a co-host of The Honest Bunch podcast. This decision follows escalating controversy involving social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman.
The drama began after reality TV star Deeone appeared on The Honest Bunch podcast and alleged that Verydarkman had an interest in men. Rather than directly addressing the claim, Verydarkman responded by redirecting attention toward Nedu, revealing private conversations and making allegations about Nedu’s personal life and relationships.
As the controversy gained momentum on social media, Nedu took to Instagram to announce his departure from the podcast. He cited the need to protect his peace of mind, family, and the integrity of the show as his primary reasons for stepping down.
“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me,” Nedu wrote. “Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics. But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have taken a personal toll.”
He added that while he remains committed to fostering meaningful dialogue, the relentless attacks and misrepresentation surrounding his name made stepping back the best course of action.
