Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has revealed how her children were instrumental in helping her overcome a challenging battle with depression.

In an emotional interview with Teju Baby Face, Wright shared her personal experience with mental health, acknowledging her struggle with depression and the use of prescribed antidepressants during the difficult period. However, she credited her children with playing a pivotal role in her recovery.

“I was going through a tough time, and yes, I was on antidepressants,” Wright confessed. “But my children were the ones who helped me get through it. They made sure I focused on self-care, reminding me to shift my attention away from stress and to take time for myself.”

Wright described her children as her “number one critique” and expressed immense gratitude for their unwavering support. “They have always been there for me, and I would do anything for them,” she said. “They encouraged me to live not just for them, but for myself, urging me to enjoy life and have fun again.”

The actress emphasized that her children are not only her source of strength but also her guiding force through life’s challenges. Their encouragement to prioritize her happiness marked a turning point in her healing journey.

Bukky Wright’s openness about her mental health journey serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of family support in overcoming personal struggles.
