Ogun State is set to establish the largest Cotton and Apparel Industry in West Africa, a development expected to generate 40,000 jobs within the state’s Special Processing Zone.
This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to industrial growth and economic expansion, as discussed during the visit of Senator John Enoh, Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment.
The industry will be strategically located within the Ogun Agro-Cargo and Passenger Airport aerotropolis, which also houses Nigeria’s largest Customs facility.
This positioning aims to enhance trade and investment, further solidifying Ogun’s reputation as a leading industrial hub.
The state government remains focused on fostering a business-friendly environment through Public-Private Partnerships, major infrastructure projects, and industrial development.
Governor Dapo Abiodun said in a statement made available to our correspondent that the state’s abundant mineral resources and strategic proximity to Lagos as key advantages in attracting investors.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to provide affordable power solutions for industries and revitalise the Adire industry to boost economic empowerment.
During his visit, Senator Enoh commended Ogun State’s leadership in industrial development and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to economic diversification, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Eight-Point Agenda.
With this latest initiative, Ogun State continues to position itself as Nigeria’s premier investment destination, driving job creation and economic transformation.
