GAC’s Role Is Advisory, Not Authoritative, Says Prince Tajudeen Olusi

Date:

The Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, has clarified that the council was established to ensure the smooth running of governance in the state, not to dictate to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu or members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Olusi made this statement during an interview with The Scrutiny, dismissing claims that the GAC imposes decisions on the governor or lawmakers. The council, which serves as the highest decision-making body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, only provides advice when necessary to enhance governance.

“You must get things clear. The Governance Advisory Council (GAC) is strictly about governance. We don’t give marching orders to the governor or lawmakers or dictate to anyone, but we give advice where necessary for the smooth running of governance,” Olusi stated.

He emphasized that the council’s primary responsibility is to support both the executive and legislative arms of government. “The committee is set up for the smooth running of government. Its primary responsibility is to assist government, be it the legislature or the executive,” he explained.

Olusi assured that the council remains committed to fulfilling its advisory role and contributing to the continued progress of Lagos. “By the grace of God, we shall continue to perform our responsibilities satisfactorily,” he added.
