Super Eagles striker, Moffi returns to training after seven months

Date:

OGC Nice received a much-needed boost on Wednesday as Nigerian striker Terem Moffi returned to first-team training after being sidelined for seven months with an anterior cruciate injury.

Moffi, who had been absent since pre-season last July, was joined by French midfielder Morgan Sanson, who also made his return following a lengthy recovery from a double ankle fracture.

Both players took part in an open training session at Le Gym’s training ground, signaling a promising step forward as they near full fitness.

Their return marks the end of a difficult period for Nice, who at one point faced injuries to 12 first-team players.

With Moffi and Sanson now back in action, the club’s injury crisis seems to be gradually easing.

Moffi, who was a standout performer for Nice last season, finished as the club’s top scorer with 11 goals.

His return to the squad is expected to provide a significant boost for the French club as they look to improve their form for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year-old forward’s return also comes as positive news for the Nigerian national team.

The forward, who was part of the Super Eagles squad at the delayed AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast, made a cameo appearance in the semi-final against South Africa.

His return to full fitness will certainly be welcomed by new Super Eagles coach, as Moffi is highly regarded for his talent and contribution to the national team.

With OGC Nice now looking to bolster their squad after a challenging period, Moffi’s return will not only strengthen the team’s attack but also enhance Nigeria’s offensive options for future international competitions.
