Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has sparked a whirlwind of media attention after hinting at a romantic relationship with Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State lawmaker.
The news comes shortly after reports of 2Baba’s separation from his wife, actress Annie Idibia, leaving fans and the media speculating on the nature of the singer’s new relationship.
2Baba’s public acknowledgment of Natasha has ignited a firestorm of online discussion, particularly after a video surfaced showing the two together at a Lagos nightclub.
To address the mounting rumors, 2Baba took to Instagram where he shared a video with a caption that read, “To Whom It May concern. #I don yarn my truth. Feel free to continue alleging.
“We shall all be alright.” In the video, he refuted claims that Natasha played any role in his separation from Annie, stating, “Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home-breaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.”
Despite his attempts to set the record straight, 2Baba admitted to his feelings for Natasha, affirming, “Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her.”
The statement quickly went viral, with Natasha Osawaru’s name trending on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), where users flooded the platform with their reactions to the surprising revelation.
Honourable Natasha, is a rising star in Nigerian politics.
A member of the Edo State House of Assembly, she represents the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party.
Having been elected in April 2023, Natasha is also the Deputy Majority Leader in the Assembly.
A trained lawyer with a Master’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York, Natasha is seen as a strong advocate for youth and women’s empowerment.
However, the lawmaker’s recent appearance in the media has been met with mixed reactions.
In 2024, Natasha was asked to leave the Edo Assembly floor after being deemed improperly dressed for the session, further adding to her public profile.
While Annie Idibia, 2Baba’s estranged wife, has yet to publicly comment on the separation, the unfolding events continue to capture the attention of both fans and critics alike.
Social media users, along with celebrities, have weighed in on 2Baba’s comments, with some criticising his declaration about Natasha amid the ongoing tensions in his marriage.
As the story continues to develop, many are left wondering what the future holds for 2Baba and Natasha.
