Former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has recovered from blister injury and he is now expected to feature for the nine-time Nigerian Premier Football League champions, Enyimba home game against Rivers United this Sunday.
The 36-year-old striker has missed his team’s last three games on account of the injury.
He has two goals to his name since he joined Enyimba.
“I have resumed training after suffering some blisters,” Ideye revealed.
“And hopefully I will play a part in our next game against Rivers United on Sunday.”
Enyimba’s media officer, David Orji also confirmed Ideye’s return.
He said, “Ideye is back in training after sustaining a minor injury and should be fully fit soon,” Orji said.
Interestingly, Ideye was initially set to join Rivers United on return to the domestic league but the deal fell through because they claimed there was no budget for him.
“They (Rivers United) said they do not have a budget for me, that was why I could not sign for the team despite already training with the team.”
Enyimba who have the highest number of draws recorded so far in the league are currently eighth in the NPFL log with 31 points from 22 games.
They face Bendel Insurance in Wednesday’s NPFL fixture.
