The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Ikenga Ugochinyere, has commended the leadership style of the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, insisting that it has made the 10th House stable
Ugochinyere who is the member representing Ideato North/South federal constituency of Imo State, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, in a statement has under the leadership of the two presiding officers all lawmakers are carried along in all legislative business both on the floor of the House and outside the chamber.
He particularly noted that even new lawmakers have sense of belonging and responsibility because they are all saddled with key assignments as well as being allowed to make their inputs in any legislative process while they are availed the opportunity to tap from the legislative acumen of the sagacious leaders.
According to the lawmaker, Speaker Abbas and Deputy Kalu have embraced a collaborative approach that transcends party lines, fostering an environment where all voices are not only heard but also valued.
The opposition lawmaker stressed that all-inclusive approach of the Zaria Prince and Igbo Title Holder (Chief) has endeared them to all lawmakers, culminating into peace and stability which the nation was reaping fruits thereof via quality legislations.
“The 10th House of Representatives has been very peaceful and stable because of the leadership of their Excellencies, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, hence all lawmakers are left with no choice but support them for their sincerity of purpose.
“It is a matter of fact that under the duo, there is an inclusive leadership where lawmakers of all political parties and ethnic backgrounds as well as ranking are given equal opportunities to contribute their quota to national development via the instrumentality of lawmaking cum legislative interventions.
“In the current 10th Assembly, the magnanimity of the Speaker and his Deputy has provided avenue for all lawmakers irrespective of party and regional affiliations as well ranking to occupy a leadership position either as chairman or deputy chairman of standing committees, special committees or parliamentary friend committee.”
