The marriage between renowned gospel singer Paul Nwokocha and his second wife, Mrs. Goodness Nwokocha, has officially ended following reports of marital challenges. A family source confirmed the dissolution, with the return of the bride price marking the end of their union.
The news was first shared on Saturday morning by blogger Promise Uzoma Okoro via his official Facebook page.
Paul Nwokocha married Goodness in September 2023, shortly after separating from his first wife, Alice Nwokocha, whom he had accused of maltreatment. Goodness, originally from Nkpa in the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, relocated from Lagos to marry the gospel singer at the urging of his uncles.
The family source disclosed that Goodness had no prior relationship with Nwokocha before their marriage. Issues reportedly began in May 2024, when she started experiencing mistreatment in her new home. Allegedly, she was treated more like a housemaid than a wife, leading to increasing tensions in the marriage.
With irreconcilable differences mounting, the marriage has now been officially dissolved. The return of the bride price to Paul Nwokocha’s family confirmed the separation.
Neither Paul Nwokocha nor Goodness have made any public statements about the split. The development has sparked conversations among fans and the gospel community about the challenges that may arise in public figures’ personal lives.
As of now, there is no word on whether Nwokocha plans to reconcile with his first wife or continue his life independently.
