In a major step toward boosting regional connectivity and economic growth, the Lagos State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the internationally renowned Summa Group for the development and construction of the Lekki-Epe International Airport.

The highly anticipated airport project is set to transform the state’s transportation landscape, improve access to global markets, and attract significant foreign investment. It also aligns with Lagos’ broader vision of establishing itself as a hub for commerce, innovation, and tourism.

Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, state officials emphasized the critical role the airport will play in creating new business opportunities and enhancing the lives of Lagos residents. The Lekki-Epe International Airport is expected to boost trade, ease travel for millions, and serve as a catalyst for job creation across multiple sectors.

“This initiative is a vital component of our long-term vision to expand Lagos’ infrastructure and reinforce our leadership as a global city,” officials said.

Summa Group, a globally recognized construction firm with a track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, will lead the development of the airport. Their expertise ensures that the project will meet international standards, positioning Lagos as a premier travel and business destination in West Africa.

Once completed, the Lekki-Epe International Airport will provide world-class facilities and reduce congestion at the existing Murtala Muhammed International Airport, offering a more seamless travel experience for residents and visitors alike. With this groundbreaking initiative, Lagos State continues to demonstrate its leadership in innovation and infrastructure development. The Lekki-Epe International Airport is not just a transportation project—it is a bold statement of Lagos’ commitment to growth, prosperity, and global relevance.

Residents and stakeholders eagerly anticipate the transformative impact the airport will have on the state’s economy and quality of life.
