OGFZA MD Bamanga Jada Honoured at Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum Awards

The Managing Director and CEO of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, Bamanga Jada, was honoured at the second annual Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum Awards Night, which took place at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel.

The prestigious event celebrated the achievements of key players in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, recognising their contributions to the sector’s growth and development.

The Awards Night brought together a diverse group of industry leaders, regulators, investors, and stakeholders, all united in their commitment to advancing the energy sector.

During the ceremony, Jada was celebrated for his exceptional leadership and his pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

In his acceptance speech, he highlighted Nigeria’s vast natural gas reserves and the country’s positioning as a leader in the global energy transition.

Jada also shared the exciting news of an $8 billion foreign investment secured by OGFZA, aimed at the production of 348 metric tons of green and blue hydrogen.

This major project not only supports the global shift towards cleaner energy but is also expected to generate significant foreign exchange for Nigeria.

Nafisa Aliyu Haruna, who delivered the welcome address, harped on the critical role of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria’s economic growth and the need for continued innovation to maintain the sector’s relevance in the global energy market.

Dr. Kelechi Ofebu, speaking on behalf of Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, the CEO of NUPRC, echoed similar sentiments, stressing the importance of addressing national challenges and supporting the sector’s ongoing expansion.

The night was also marked by the launch of Energy Express Magazine, a new publication focused on showcasing the innovations, achievements, and developments within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The event concluded on a high note, with lively performances, including music, dance, and comedy, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

In a special moment, a lucky guest walked away with a plot of land, won through a raffle draw sponsored by the event organisers.

The Nigerian Oil and Gas Forum Awards Night reinforced its position as a key platform for recognising excellence, driving innovation, and fostering collaboration in Nigeria’s energy sector while looking ahead to a more sustainable and prosperous future.
