A former Besiktas midfielder, Sinan Engin, has issued a warning to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen over his recent dip in form at Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli, has been a fan favourite after an impressive start to his tenure.
With 16 goals and four assists in 19 matches, the 25-year-old initially made a strong impact, but his recent performances have raised concerns among fans and pundits alike.
The striker’s output has notably declined in recent games, with his only goals coming from the penalty spot in a 1-1 draw against Hatayspor, a 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv and in a 1-0 win over Konyaspor last Saturday.
Despite converting the penalty that earned a point against Hatayspor, Osimhen’s overall performance in those matches has been underwhelming, as he missed several chances and was caught offside multiple times.
Engin expressed concerns over Osimhen’s recent struggles while speaking on the Assist Analysis YouTube channel.
He urged the striker to focus on his form and avoid distractions, particularly regarding tabloid stories.
“Victor Osimhen is far from the tempo he had when he came to Galatasaray. He needs to pay attention to some things. Especially the tabloid issues,” Engin stated.
“The fans expect a lot from him.”
