Atalanta President, Antonio Percassi, has confirmed that top English clubs Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal are showing interest in Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles star has been a standout performer for Atalanta, catching the attention of major European clubs with his impressive displays.
Lookman, who has been pivotal in Atalanta’s recent successes, was a key figure in the club’s run to the UEFA Europa League last season, even scoring a memorable hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Despite heavy transfer speculation last summer, Lookman remained with the club, though his future continues to dominate discussions as his contract expires at the end of next season.
Atalanta has struggled to secure a new deal for the forward, and with his contract running down, the club risks losing him for free if he does not sign an extension.
However, Percassi has stated that the club is eager to retain Lookman, but they will be forced to consider selling him if he does not commit to a new contract.
“We will do everything at the end of the season to keep Lookman, but he must not remain reluctantly.
After all, we replaced Zapata, Papu Gomez, Muriel…” Percassi said, adding that top English sides like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United are all keeping tabs on the Nigerian forward.
Valued at €55m, Lookman’s transfer fee could rise to €80m, with Atalanta reportedly unwilling to let him go cheaply.
The forward, looking to further his career, could be eyeing a move to a bigger club, with aspirations to add more silverware to his trophy cabinet.
On Saturday, Lookman played for 78 minutes for Atalanta as the La Dea came from a goal down to beat Como 2-1 in a Serie A game.
He had the ball in the back of the net during the encounter, but his goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
La Dea have been stuttering in 2025, managing three points from four Serie A games and fresh off a home defeat to leaders Napoli, despite their midweek Champions League hammering of Sturm Graz.
