Sanwo-Olu Hosts Speaker Meranda, Pledges Executive-Legislative Unity

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today received the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, and other principal officers of the House at his office in Alausa, Ikeja.

The Speaker and her delegation were welcomed by Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the weekly State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting. The visit aimed to reinforce the strong working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the Lagos State government.

During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu led the delegation to the Council Chamber, where both the Speaker and members of the EXCO reiterated their commitment to maintaining a harmonious partnership. The collaboration, they noted, would ensure effective governance and the delivery of impactful projects to benefit Lagosians.

The Speaker was accompanied by key members of the House leadership, including:

  • Deputy Speaker: Hon. Mojeed Fatai (Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 1)
  • Majority Leader: Hon. Temitope Adedeji (Ifako Ijaiye Constituency 1)
  • Deputy Majority Leader: Hon. Richard Kasunmu (Ikeja Constituency 2)
  • Chief Whip: Hon. Sanni Babatunde (Kosofe Constituency 1)
  • Deputy Chief Whip: Hon. David Setonji (Badagry Constituency 2)

The visit underscores the importance of synergy between Lagos State’s legislative and executive arms in driving development and fostering good governance.
