Chelsea in Advanced Discussions to Sign Karim Adeyemi

Date:

Chelsea is reportedly making renewed efforts to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, months after the 22-year-old German international rejected a move to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

The Blues are said to be “in talks” with the in-form winger, who remains under contract with Dortmund until 2027. The Bundesliga club is expected to demand a substantial transfer fee for Adeyemi, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Napoli.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Adeyemi comes amidst speculation surrounding the future of French attacker Christopher Nkunku. Reports suggest Stamford Bridge officials are open to a swap deal involving Nkunku, potentially linking him to Bayern Munich, who are reportedly monitoring 19-year-old Mathys Tel.

Adeyemi, a former RB Salzburg standout, has been in impressive form for Dortmund this season, further solidifying his value in the transfer market. Bild journalist Christian Falk revealed that Chelsea had targeted Adeyemi in the previous transfer window but were unsuccessful due to the player’s reluctance to move at the time.

Despite Chelsea’s current depth in wing options, including Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Cole Palmer, the club remains intent on bolstering its attacking arsenal.

Liverpool, who have also been linked to Adeyemi, face uncertainty over the future of their star forward Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international is reportedly considering a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, which could further intensify Liverpool’s interest in Adeyemi as they look to expand their attacking options.

For now, Chelsea remains focused on securing Adeyemi’s signature, signaling their intent to strengthen their squad as they aim to climb the Premier League table.
