The Enugu State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with Landmark Group to restore the iconic Nike Lake Resort Hotel, aiming to revitalize the facility and turn it into a major hub for tourism and investment in the region.

The partnership agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony in Enugu, attended by the state’s Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs. Adaora Chukwu, and the CEO of Landmark Group, Mr. Paul Onwuanibe. Governor Peter Mbah, who was present at the event, reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming Enugu into a leading destination for both local and international investors while boosting the state’s tourism sector.

Governor Mbah highlighted the significance of Nike Lake Resort, stating, “Nike Lake Resort is not just a hotel; it is a symbol of Enugu’s hospitality and tourism potential. This partnership reflects our vision to create an environment that fosters investment, job creation, and economic growth.”

Under the new agreement, Landmark Group will oversee the renovation and management of the hotel, ensuring the delivery of world-class services. The revitalized Nike Lake Resort is expected to attract approximately 3 million visitors annually, with plans to generate substantial revenue for the state and create job opportunities, particularly for the youth.

Mr. Paul Onwuanibe expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating that Landmark Group was committed to making Nike Lake Resort a premier destination. “We will ensure that this hotel becomes a major tourism hub, offering top-notch services and contributing to the development of Enugu’s tourism sector,” Onwuanibe said.

The initiative is part of Governor Mbah’s broader strategy to boost Enugu’s economy and enhance its reputation as a preferred tourism destination. The project is expected to drive both domestic and international tourism while strengthening the state’s infrastructure and employment opportunities.

The revitalization of Nike Lake Resort Hotel marks a new chapter in Enugu’s economic development, and with Landmark Group’s expertise, the resort is poised to become a focal point of the state’s tourism industry.
