President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi early Sunday morning to attend the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). Touching down at 2:14 a.m. local time, the Nigerian leader was warmly received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

This year’s ADSW summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” will focus on global sustainability challenges and solutions, with President Tinubu set to highlight Nigeria’s strides in energy sufficiency, transportation modernization, public health improvements, and economic development.

The summit, a globally recognized platform for sustainability innovation, attracts leaders from various sectors, including business and civil society, to discuss and advance sustainable development initiatives. As one of the world’s most influential events on sustainability, ADSW serves as a crucial venue for fostering international partnerships.

During his visit, President Tinubu is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with UAE officials, exploring ways to strengthen Nigeria-UAE relations and identify opportunities for collaboration. His participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable development and addressing global challenges through cooperative strategies.

Accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar and other senior officials, President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.

ADSW has been a pivotal event over the last 15 years, driving initiatives in clean energy, economic growth, and international collaboration on global sustainability challenges. President Tinubu’s presence at this year’s summit aligns with Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to contribute meaningfully to global sustainable progress.
