Victor Osimhen scored his 10th goal of the Super Lig season to help Galatasaray secure a 2-1 victory over Goztepe at RAMS Park on Saturday, dedicating his goal to the sons of Tony Elumelu, Chairperson of the United Bank for Africa.
The win keeps Galatasaray unbeaten after 17 matches, with 47 points — 11 ahead of second-place Fenerbahçe.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a penalty after Kaan Ayhan was fouled by Djalma Silva.
This goal took his tally to 13 goals and four assists in all competitions, placing him joint second in the league’s top scorer rankings, just two goals behind Krzysztof Piątek.
Goztepe equalised in the 27th minute when Romulo Cruz finished off a precise pass from Nigerian midfielder Antony Dennis.
However, Yunus Akgun restored Galatasaray’s lead just after the hour mark, sealing the victory for the league leaders.
Osimhen, who played 87 minutes before being substituted for Michy Batshuayi.
Osimhen recently attended Elumelu’s star-studded annual all-white party before Christmas, which featured performances by top artists such as Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Burna Boy.
The event also saw football legends like Austin Okocha, Samuel Eto’o, and Kanu Nwankwo in attendance, all celebrating alongside Osimhen, who shared a close bond with Elumelu, especially after gifting him a personalised Napoli jersey following Osimhen’s Serie A triumph.

Kanu, the former Arsenal forward, looked dapper in his all-white attire, adding to the glamour of the evening.
Osimhen was seen engaging with Tony Elumelu.
The pair have cultivated a close bond, notably since Osimhen gifted Elumelu a personalised Napoli jersey following his Serie A triumph in 2023.
They’ve been spotted alongside prominent figures such as Samson Siasia and the Cuban Chief Priest.
At the all-white party, Osimhen appeared relaxed and at ease, reflecting the camaraderie between the footballer and the business tycoon.
